So after a week of playing around with this little gal - here she is. Now, the decisions I need to make about her.
Are her eyes "right" I'm not sure yet. I have tried a darker pink, but those looked like she had "devil eyes." :) I put a mouth on her too, but then she looked like "weird skeleton doll."
I am also trying a necklace on her. Seeing as I do jewelry as well as fiber, and got a TON of beads, may as well.
What do you think?
See other work at Nina-Marie's Off The Wall Friday!
My mom used to talk about making hollyhock dolls so it's so wonderful to see your rendition! Lovin' the way you painted the fabric (and congratulations on your acceptance into the juried show!)
ReplyDeleteHollyhock dolls hold a memory for me too. So much fun. My mom hated that I was always picking the blossoms to create these dolls.
ReplyDeleteOh, I've never heard about these dolls before, nice to know!
ReplyDeleteSo here's what I did............I took her eyes OFF! Now I like her face a whole lot more.
ReplyDeleteStill not sure about a necklace, but I'm playing with it.
What a sweet idea! Never heard of it, but love your colors and the swirly skirt!
ReplyDeletewell first of all - I got a good giggle from the term - weird skeleton doll - but you know me - I make ladies without faces all the time - so that's the way I roll!
